I gave in. I did one of the things i SWORE I would never do. It has been over 10 months since I have had my haircut and colored. I normally can't stand to go 5 months and now it has been twice as long. Well, HAD been, until today. I went inside Payless shoes, which happened to be next to a Great Clips. I have been putting off cutting my hair/coloring b/c of finances. Well, I did exactly what you all are thinking. I went inside to get my hair cut. I figured, I needed about 4 inches cut off. so I told her that. I said, I like two layers in the back...COMPLETELY forgetting that my idea of layers is like 1/4 inch in between the layers. Well..HER idea is 2 inches. So yes, picture chunky! It's horrible. I said, "Wow, I'm not used to such a big difference. She's all....well...yeah, it's your coloring, and I tried to blend it". I'm thinking..no honey..you chunked it off!! So, I called my normal hairdresser in a panic. Well, okay, almost tears. Spilling the truth to her about my impulse to try and "save" money. Well..if I had gotten through to her place sooner, I would have known the pricing is the SAME!!!
So..I have to wait a whole week before I can get it fixed. When I called her, I told her I did something I swore I never would do. She's all.."did you buy a box of color at the store?" I laughed. I said no, but it's just as bad! So now I'll go from having "4 inches" (which amounted to 6 actually) cut off to really hving like 7 inches!! Kevin will flip. So....I guess I need the shorter hair when the baby comes, right? On my mission I had my hair short. it was HORRIBLE!! So, I guess now I have to use a lot more product to keep it from going frizzy and out of control. Ahhh..the troubles of hair. I know. Something stupid to ramble about. But, my hair has always been the one thing that I "wouldn't" change about myself. (You know, the question..what would you change about your appearance??) I probably would nip/tuck other places...okay...MOST other places, but I wouldn't change my hair. Well...I guess I am. I'll post later with an updated pic...after next week.

Oh Beth, don't we all do stuff to our hair that we regret?? I know I do all the time!! Just remember its just hair and it will grow out before you know it. Easier said than done, I know!! But I do think that you should definitly post a pic of your haircut now with your new hair cut next week, so we can all see the difference!
Shave it off, Brittney, and get a wig. Problem solved.
;-)
I need a picture!
o.k. i didn't actually read the post, and now that i have, i'm dying laughing.
i cut my hair when i was pregnant with Mr. Charming, and the hairdresser wouldn't cut it shorter than a certain length. I said "why, you don't want me to look like a beached whale?". and she was quiet!
oh boy....
geez, sorry to hear about your hair plight...! what we gals go through when it comes to our hair, eh?!? :) makes me feel a bit nervous about getting my hair done tomorrow night, though i'm not going to Great Clips!!! :) still, wish me luck...!
The good thing about this is that it is only hair...and that grows back! My girlfriend cuts and colors my hair at her house...and she swears that if I ever go to Bo-rics or anything like that to save money she won't fix it to teach me a lesson! She'd rather have me not pay her once instead of going to one of the other places! Good luck with you plight! :)
that it actually reall funny! I cant wait to see it Im sure it looks great! my hair-gal wouldnt let me cut my hair when i was pg...she said I wasnt thinking right...now im glad she stopped me!

can't wait to see it! I've always considered coloring, but man it IS pricey. Good luck!
Beth, your hair is beautiful (I didn't see the botch job) but you have always had such thick, gorgeous hair. Short will be nice for the summertime. Also, congrats on son #3!
