Another appointment

This is again a post asking for comments on your feelings...so here goes. We went to the doctor again on Thursday for my 37 week appt. the baby is still not engaged, so nothing happening. This got me thinking the whole day and next. About how Justin was the same way, with his partially being because there was so much fluid, he was ALWAYS swimming around. Well..this baby is too. The doctor went from saying the baby was like 6 1/2-7lbs to 8 lbs. Great. We grow 'em big!!

I was talking with my boss yesterday who apparently has the same problem. Her pelvic area (sorry if I'm WAY too descriptive, it is rated "G") was too small too, never went into labor on her own, had to be induced (remember...VBAC deliveries are not induced with pitocin or any other drug) on all 4 of her kids and she said they were extremely traumatic deliveries for her and the kids, where the contractions had to be HARD enough to "shove them through" (her quote). Of course this gets everyone thinking.

So basically...I"m leaning toward having a c-section, on May 23rd, so Kevin can take off the weekend (Memorial Day, remember?) and then my mom could fly in on the 28th and Kevin could go back to work while she is here. I so want to have a VBAC, but i get so worried about making sure it's best for baby and not just doing it for "me", ya know?

In my humble opinion, you need to do what is in the best interest of the BOTH of you.....personally, If the baby and mother are both healthy and happy, that is what matters most in the big picture a hundred years from now, because if you could ask Baby Potter, he could care less - "just get me out of here" - is what he would say. ;-)

Beth...it was the same for me & the little guy...finally at the end I chose the c-section...which now im glad I did! But as long as the little guy has 10 fingers & 10 toes & is healthy all will be well!!

Beth ~ I won't bore you with my opinion (just recall everything I said when you were struggling with this decision for Justin's birth). I haven't booked my flight yet sooooo . . . IF you're going to have the baby on 5/23, I'll check to see about a flight on 5/26 so Kevin could be back to work on 5/27. Let me know ASAP! Thanks!

I have NOT booked a flight yet so looked at NWA and have a couple options ~ fly out there on 5/24 (arriving at 11:11 am) and leaving 6/7 at 1:49 pm (fly in/out of MBS). Of course, flying out on 5/28 (arrive at 7:10 pm) and return 6/7 at 1:49 pm is still an option.

I also had an option of coming out on 5/21 (arrive 11:26 pm) and home on 5/30 leaving at 10:46 am (NO other later dates available as in 6/1, 6/2, 6/3, 6/4) . . .

Let me know what you're thinking. Love, Mom

Beth,

First of all, it was SO much fun to connect with you at Mary's reception, it's been way too long. Let's not do that again.

The last two babies I had were induced. McKell b/c I was tired of being pregnant and after having other kids I wanted to plan when the baby was coming.

With Ellie I needed to be induced b/c of the medical staff that needed to be in attendance. I liked planning the birth of my kids.

For me, it's easier to plan but I didn't have C-sections, what would be bad is if you did go into labor yourself and ended up with an emergency C-section - YUCK.

I know I'm not much help, but it's totally up to you - I'm a planner and like to have everything in order.
